Finally! Just when everybody had probably given up on seeing any further work on the Arts of Japan print series, we get it back on the rails ...
I've had the image selected for months now, and have been tracing it bit by bit as I have been able to snatch some time recently. Yesterday morning it was finally ready, printed out on thin gampi paper, and pasted down ready for work:
Now that it is actually on the bench, work will automatically move to a high priority - it was all to easy to put it aside to do other things when it was still just an 'idea'. Carving has now begun, and we'll see some good progress over the next couple of days ...
Wonderful!
I've been waiting for "traditional" woodblock prints although Ukiyo-e Heroes series are exciting (I fell in love with "Fox Moon") and Chibi Heroes are so cute.
I will try to catch you working with this one at the Woodblock Webcam!
