Arts of Japan series : print #5 - key block finished
The shot of the key block before carving was taken late Friday evening, as I was knocking off for the night.
Saturday and Sunday are of course holidays, so ... anything done?
Yes! Holidays for the other staff here means only one thing for me - finally a chance to get to work uninterrupted! Here's the block at the end of Saturday:
And now again, late Sunday afternoon - it's done!
It's so nice to be back at the bench like this!

Arts of Japan series : print #5 - carving begins!
Finally! Just when everybody had probably given up on seeing any further work on the Arts of Japan print series, we get it back on the rails ...
I've had the image selected for months now, and have been tracing it bit by bit as I have been able to snatch some time recently. Yesterday morning it was finally ready, printed out on thin gampi paper, and pasted down ready for work:
Now that it is actually on the bench, work will automatically move to a high priority - it was all to easy to put it aside to do other things when it was still just an 'idea'. Carving has now begun, and we'll see some good progress over the next couple of days ...

I had a request the other day for an 'email interview', and - once I saw the website on which it would be living when done - immediately complied.
Rather than explain too much about it here, I'll just send you to it directly - The Setup ... What do people use to get things done?
