Here's a real blast from the past, dug up by Simon. It's one page of the passenger list for the July 26, 1957 sailing of the Empress of Scotland, from Liverpool to Montreal.
This is pretty small, so you'll need to click it to bring up the large image (which may take a minute or so to download ...).
I see that according to this list, at the age of (still) 5, I found an occupation!
And while we're at it, let's put that address - 64 Richmond Road - into Google and see what it looks like these days:
