Couple questions:
- why no lacquer on the bottom curve of the big baby?
- the stand for the short one really looks too unstable.
- no neck strap? I know you're not actually holding the thing in the air, but wouldn't it add a measure of safety - the big one sure looks like it could slip out of your hands in an instant ...

Couple of answers:
There _is_ lacquer. It looks dull because of the reflection of the carpet.
The short one has its peg in a cup on the leg of the stand. No danger, believe me, I've checked it out pretty good...
It's safe like that. The thing is so heavy it barely moves, and even when playing high (!!!) the left hand is still supporting the body.

Have you got any sound files of this thing we could post here?

No sound files yet, must really get something done about that. Got news about the bass today, it's ready and waiting in Munich, sadly without a case. Have to decide when to go down and pick it up...

Of course digital audio would be best, but if you can get me anything - a cassette tape, whatever - I can convert that to something that we can upload to the site here ...
