This one also, was for the [Baren Forum] Exchanges. The group was of course made up mostly of people who considered themselves 'artists' - I was perhaps the only person working as a 'craftsman', focussing on carving and printing, mostly doing reproduction work. So when the group began to use the Exchanges as a 'creative' outlet for their work, this left me somewhat sidelined. I did give it a try though, when they came up with 'Self Portrait' as the theme for Exchange #4, having a stab at making a print using the 'reduction' method, in which the block is cut back bit by bit after each colour is printed, meaning that once the initial batch of prints is finished, no more can ever be made.
