Again, part of the publicity surrounding the annual exhibition, this feature article resulted from my contacts with professional photographer Kazuhiro Inoue, who over the years has made a speciality of covering 'Foreigners in Japan doing Traditional Culture'. You may laugh at the idea, but Inoue-san has made a living for many years by cultivating a Rolodex of people like me working/studying here, and then 'selling' story proposals to media outlets all over the country.
