Off to Yamashita-san's son's wedding (for which I had to give a speech!) until mid-afternoon, and then started trying to find colours. The original of this one had a brownish kimono, but as I have been using a lot of brown recently (especially last month), it's time to try something else. Decided to try using a deep green, for the first time in this series, but wasn't able to mix the kind of mossy green I wanted. Also had trouble settling on a tone for the 'pants', and eventually gave up. Perhaps something will come together when I do the 60 run ....

Prepared the 60 sheets before going to bed.

An easy day. Sumi on the 60, with none of the problems of the other day. When I had checked the paper in the morning, it seemed a bit dry, so I added some water and waited 'till about noon before printing. It was quite soft then. Did have a bit of a problem getting a good dilution of the sumi, and ended up using a 'too thick' mixture for most of the run. Spent the rest of the day at the river with the kids.

Colours on the 60. Looked back through the 24 finished prints to try and find a good tone for the pants, and 'stole' a colour from last year's set. This green/brown combination is new for me, and I'm not sure what Matsuzaki-san will say about it!
