A day off from everything. Himi was at a birthday party all day, and Michiyo, Fumi and I went to Yamanashi Prefecture, for a walk in the country. The ostensible reason was 'looking for houses...', but it was really just a chance to get away for a day. Get away we did. The three of us got lost in the mountains behind Otsuki city. The mountain road we were walking on simply gave out, and we had to bushwhack around for a half hour or so before coming out onto another road. The area was nice, but a little too mountainous ... we'd like to find a place with more fields and paddies ....

Spent the evening pasting up the next issue of the newsletter. I'm getting better at planning this thing, and this time it fit just nicely into the eight pages.

Filming today for Asahi TV, from 10 'till about 6. The producer, Imaki-san, seems to have a good concept in his head of what he wants to do with our stuff, and I think the show should be quite good. He spent a long time talking first before we started, and by the time we started the actual interview, I was all 'talked out'. He also seemed quite interested in putting a slant on the program that would help us out in our attempt to collect more customers. Broadcast is scheduled for tomorrow noon.

During the filming, pasted down Harumichi no Tsuraki [3-5], and started carving. Number 25 ... 1/4 of the way!

The chorus ladies came over this morning to receive their posters. they tried to give us an envelope, but we couldn't take anything. If there was to be real payment for these things, they couldn't afford me! It'll be fun seeing them spread all over town next week.

Imaki-san called at eleven in the morning, to tell us that the broadcast was being delayed a day. That necessitated a few frantic phone calls (Yamashita-san, etc.) to make sure we didn't get anybody angry about wasting an hour looking for a show that didn't come ....

Finished up the newsletter, and delivered it to Sun Print in Ome, who say it'll be ready by the 9th or so. On time!

Phyllis Morita called. The replacement print I sent a couple of days ago ... smashed in the Post Office! Really?! Of course, we sent off another one, but I'm really getting curious about the problems this month...
