Three English classes, a few dozen pages of biotechnology translations, 60 more sheets of paper wet for the second run of the poster, and the interview, which was scheduled for one hour, but went on for three.

Sato-san seemed to really get quite interested in what we were doing, and filled a notebook with our conversation. I don't know if he is going to focus on the 'tool search', or the print series. He says that he can get something in the paper within the next few days ... and this would be the Tokyo editions, with a circulation of just about 1,000,000 copies. Of course, this is our widest distribution yet, and we're just praying that gets the facts right, or doesn't get the phone number wrong, or something!

Another unusual call today. Phyllis Morita called from Osaka and asked if she could exchange the last print, as it was 'defective'. Of course Michiyo agreed (I was at the pool). I guess these people are taking my comments in the newsletter seriously! I don't know what's wrong with these prints, but will just have to sit and wait for them to come back ....

A payment slip came in the mail today from the Mainichi newspaper, 60,000 for the first three articles. It's interesting that they are actually paying 66,000 or so, so that when the tax is deducted, I still receive 60,000, or 20,000 for each article. If only my English students did that! (They still haven't sent copies of the articles though, and I'd sure like to see them .....)
