Step Nine ...

So here we are one quarter of the way through! This sky isn't the final colour of course - again this is a kind of 'base' coat. Only the point below the wires in the distance will be visible in the final print, but putting this blue over the entire sky area helps prepare the paper for the deeper and richer tone that will follow later.

Printing this way - with multiple layers of thinner colour, rather than single layers of heavy colour, really gives a lot more depth to the impressions.

But what a mess it looks like at this stage ... and it's going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better!
