Post Problem with my ball-bearing baren
I am having problems with a new ball-bearing baren i bought and now I can't quite figure out why when I've got my own I'm getting small circles on the print.  I've tried paying more attention to pressing more evenly, pressing lighter, using thicker paper, different kinds of ink  and varying the dampness of the paper, etc. --in various combinations ( many of which options resulted in poor pigment penetration).  Nothing seems to get a good print.  Can you suggest what might be happening?

All I can think is that you are perhaps using a quite thin paper, and this is why the marks are so predominant. Have you tried using a backing sheet between the baren and the printing paper?
