'Ban-Ban' is the name of a printmaking 'circle' which meets at the Asahi Culture Centre in Tachikawa, a city in Tokyo. They hold an exhibition at the centre once a year, and these images are from the 1999 show.

The members of the circle are mostly housewives and retirees. There are three groups within the circle: a beginners group of about 40 students (to which there is currently a waiting list for entry), and two more advanced groups, of about 20 members each.
