Paul Jacoulet

Born in Paris in 1896, Jacoulet was brought up in Japan, studying a wide range of traditional arts from an early age. He established his own print publishing firm when he was 37, hiring craftsmen to carve and print his designs, which he marketed through subscriptions. He remained in Japan through the war, and continued to produce prints up until the time of his death in 1960.
