DON'TS
For print lovers:
- Don't touch the surface of a print.
- Don't hold a print so tightly that creases result.
- Don't hold a print where a strong breeze can strike it. Creases may result.
For framers and matters:
- Don't touch the surface of a print.
- Don't cut off any margins of the print.
- Don't make any pencil marks either on the margins or on the back of the print, nor on the inside cover of the mat; they are likely to smutch the print.
- Don't glue the print on a mount.
- Don't glue tissue paper or cellophane to the print - use hinges to mount the print and attach the cellophane to the mount.
- Don't allow more margin at the sides of a picture than at the top and don't place the picture in the exact center of a frame. Allow more margin at the bottom.
- Don't roll prints.
To the shipper:
- Don't touch the surface of prints.
- Don't trim down the packing boards to the same size as the mats.
- Don't include thumb tacks with a package of prints.
- Don't handle mats with soiled hands.
- Don't pack crinkled cardboard against prints.
To the exhibitor:
- Don't touch face of prints.
- Don't allow visitors to exhibitions to touch the face of prints.
- Don't punch holes in the mats for hanging. Use clips.
- Don't hang prints where a chance breeze can flutter them.
