Aftermath ...

Here's an early morning shot from the upstairs window:

... and then from the other side - down at the river:

I've never - never - seen it like this here, and all the locals are saying the same thing. This much snow, and twice in seven days, this is a first for everybody ...

We all got straight to work (again, luckily this is happening on a weekend ...). See that little thing sticking up in the snow to the right of the cleared path?

It's a 600mm scale ... showing about 560 in depth.

That's 22 inches ... And I didn't particularly try and find the deepest spot, so I think we can safely call this a 2-foot storm.

And here we are, a couple of hours later. Looking from my driveway to the right:

... and to the left:

Here's Hamanaka-san, the lady that runs the noodle shop:

She says "I did this part all by myself!" (And if you believe that ... she has a bowl of noodles she would like to sell you ...)

And this is early Sunday AM, before we got started on the next round of clearing and widening ...

Again!

You saw this photo here a few days ago:

That was the evening of the 8th ... By next afternoon (a Sunday, so everybody was around), we had it like this:

Today - nearly a week later - the ladies were here this morning for work as usual, but they all left early. Why?

They knew what was coming!

That was evening. Come around six in the morning, and it was difficult to open the front door:

Can you find my bike?

And it's still coming down ...

A few Photos ...

When Himi sees that post title, she'll be thinking that I have finally processed some of her recent vacation photos ...

Unfortunately, not yet! Sorry Himi-chan!

Instead, you get this:

We're over 40cm already, and it's still coming down. I have no idea if I will be able to open the front door in the morning!
